Window opens
- These keyboard shortcuts are specific to Windows. We've tested them on Windows 10, but most of them work on earlier versions of Windows.
High Tolerance: SHIFT + ALT + PRINT
- In the default setting, this shortcut opens a warning window before you apply any changes. Click Yes or simply press "Back" to switch to High Contrast setting.
- This will maximize the font on all open windows and convert colors to high contrast. On the example road, the desktop will change to black, and the black text will be against the white background before. Clicking the same key set again converts the changes.
Rotate screen: CTRL + ALT + UP / LOW / LEFT / RIGHT
- This will not work on every device because it depends on graphics card drivers and visual section drivers. However, if it works, the desktop will rotate. It's also the quickest way to play a trick on an unexpected victim.
- You can always make that conversion in your view settings. Go to Settings (press the Windows + I key) and go to Layout> Display. Here you can convert the destination from horizontal to vertical or counter-version (upside down on the heels) of the two.
- Have you ever done this by accident and could not find out what happened? Take a look at these and other keyboard shortcuts that users accidentally see.
Switch between Windows Open: ALT + TAB
- This keyboard shortcut runs a temporary crash environment that displays all open programs. Press the ALT key and click the TAB key to move to the next application. Release both keys to open the selected window.
- You can reverse the destination by pressing ALT + SHIFT while pressing the TAB key.
Delete without confirmation: SHIFT + DEL
- Do you hate these annoying windows that ask if you want to do this. If you want to delete something quickly, without being harassed for snooping on confirmation, use this shortcut.
- Do you want to make the instant deletion path your default setting? Right-click the Recycle Bin on your custom desktop, select Properties, and remove the check mark next to the View Deletion Confirmation dialog box.
- If you encounter any problem deleting a file in use, we have covered you.
Desktop Illustration / Windows Open Recovery: Windows + D key
- Instead of moving the mouse to the lower-left corner of the screen to see your desktop, tap on this keyboard shortcut. Press it again to retrieve your windows as before.
Layout Lock: Windows Key + L
- You should not leave your desktop unattended. Before context to the bathroom or to grab another coffee, press the keyboard shortcut to lock your system. When you return and sign in again, all programs and windows will appear in the style and how you left them.
- If you can not bother to write your super secure Microsoft password every time you sign in to your desktop, set a short PIN instead.
Run the command prompt as administrator: Windows + R key, type cmd, press CTRL + SHIFT, and then press ENTER
- This is a complex series of commands. But if you can do it correctly, you'll have instant access to the administrator.
- Unfortunately, this shortcut does not appear to work anymore in Windows 10 Creators Update. Instead, press the Windows + X key to open the Quick Access list, then use the up / down arrow keys to move the Admin entry, and then press ENTER.
Shutdown: Windows Key + X, U, I / U / R / H / S
- You can turn off Windows with tiny clicks on the buttons. All things start using the Windows + X key to open the Quick Access Menu, followed by the U key to expand the shutdown or exit options. Finally, press I to go out, U to close, R to return playback, H to hibernate, and S to sleep.

Create your desktop keyboard trick
- Are there many folders or applications you need? Why not create your own custom keyboard shortcut for quick access to these tools.
Note: This will only work with shortcuts on your desktop!
- You first need to create a physical desktop shortcut. In Windows 10, it becomes more idle. Right-click the application in its custom program folder or send it from the Start menu to the Taskbar, then Shift + Right-click the Taskbar icon, and then select Create Shortcut from the context menu.
- Make sure that the shortcut exists on the desktop. Now right-click the shortcut and select Properties. You should see a line that says the shortcut key: None. Click this line, and then click Letter on Keyboard, on the example of P. This will establish a shortcut, here CTRL + ALT + P.
As you go now, you have your custom shortcut key.
- Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox
- We chose keyboard shortcuts that work in both browsers and possibly in other browsers as well.
Move to open tabs: CTRL + [tab 1-9]
- Instead of scrolling through all open tabs, you can quickly jump to a specific tab if you know its position. For example, clicking CTRL + 4 will move to tab number 4 (left). With CTRL + 9, you will move to the last tab, regardless of the number of slots.
Navigate through the tabs: CTRL + TAB or CTRL + SHIFT + TAB
- Have many tabs been opened to make the shortcut useful? As with Windows, you can use the CTRL + TAB shortcut to move between the various open-tab tabs from left to right. Add the SHIFT key to move from right to left.
Tab Close: CTRL + F4
Quick mode does not save to close a tab.
Open a closed tab: CTRL + SHIFT + T
- Did you accidentally close this tab? Restore it using this combination of the key.
